In December 2025, I had the honor to join Melanie Windle, Mary Bredin and Jordan Hall for a panel at the annual Sustainable Production Forum. Melanie, Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Sustainable Entertainment Society, moderated a lively conversation centered on strategies for writing and producing climate stories. I was able to present an independent approach to development, using “Little Stories, Big Echoes” as a case study. From self-funding, crowd funding, testing to festivals, I talked about the need to have the long view as well as knowing when and how to pivot to keep the production in motion – and green. Such a joy to hear from the participants as they described stories they want to tell. And a treat to be alongside Mary and Jordan, both incredible climate warriors in the space of entertainment. As Mary said, if you aren’t including climate change in your stories, you’ll be outdated before you even start.
Where are you seeing climate in stories you are watching in this moment? How can we continue to normalize the act of green practices – i.e. recycling, riding a bike instead of driving, solar panels – in our stories?

Thank you Melanie for the opportunity!
