I Am the Y

“It’s the people,” one of the staff members said. After conducting my initial interview, I couldn’t have agreed more with that statement.

The YMCA of Metro Atlanta wanted a piece to ‘cut through’ other recruitment sizzles. They wanted to show the many impactful ways that working for them helps not only the community but also the individual. From all levels of the company and from the various impact departments, the selected staff had the opportunity to tell their “why” for being part of the organization. My job as Director was to create a safe space for the interviews, one that would lend itself to the staff sharing their personal stories. And essentially get out of the way and let the moments speak for themselves.

I never tire of watching this piece. May we all find this kind of purpose and passion in what we are looking to do.
